There's yet more to learn, more problems to solve, and more to build. And for that, I'm grateful.
Hello there! I'm Sneha (she/her/hers), your friendly neighborhood networking enthusiast. I worked in the industry for four years, currently busting brain cells at the University of Colorado, Boulder, pursuing my Masters in Network Engineering. My journey into networking started back in India during my undergrad days.
Let me share a quick story with you! About seven years ago, I accidentally booted my laptop to Kali Linux, intending to dual-boot it with Windows. Surprise, surprise – It turned out to be a huge deal (imagine staying awake for about 28 hours, desperately trying to get back my important data, fueled by 11 cups of coffee). I didn't manage to recover the data, but guess what? It led to me getting a job! That "little" mishap led me into the fascinating realms of operating systems, computer networks, and problem-solving. Turns out, I have a knack for tech therapy – solving problems is my jam! Fast forward a bit, and I found myself as a full-time System Administrator at D.E. Shaw in India, juggling Windows, Linux, networking, and, of course, problem-solving. Classic, right?
While I was working in D.E. Shaw as a System Administrator, I worked very closely with a number of technologies. When the pandemic struck, I witnessed how critical the underlying network infrastructure was in seamlessly transitioning from working from the office to home one hundred percent. It fascinated me how powerful Networking is in enabling previously unimaginable things and changing the world's working conditions. This thought struck a chord with me, and that was the moment when I decided to make Networking my full-fledged profession.
I came to understand that pursuing a Master's degree is the most effective way to expand my knowledge. As I continued my studies, I got fascinated by automating network setup and management. Right now, I'm focusing on improving these skills. I'm blending my love for solving problems with the ability to use code to make networking easier and more efficient.
Now, I'm living in Boulder, Colorado, and I love the mountains here. I'm really excited about the endless possibilities and how networking can change the way the world works. My hands-on experience and studies keep me hooked on the ever-evolving world of networking.
